My mom and brother, Chance, met up here at Chambleeville yesterday to begin their road trip to DC this morning. Chance just recently completed a three-year service at the American embassy in Madrid, Spain. He will be living in Washington for the next several months while getting more training and going to language school (French) before starting a three-year assignment in the Congo--as in Africa. He leads quite an adventurous life and has lived in Mexico City, Lima, Peru and in Seattle, WA. He hikes, bikes, scuba dives, surfs, mountain climbs, skies and I don't know what all! This Sunday he will be running the marathon in DC. Mom is joining
him for the drive and will cheer him on during his run. She will also help him get settled in his new digs in the DC area (although he found out the other day that although he left Madrid almost 3 months ago, his belongings are still there!) His business clothes haven't arrived, so he will either have to purchase new or go casual. Mom will be flying to meet up with
Caedmon in his deluxe wagon with seatbelts and cupholders that we got for his birthday
