Blessings and Benefits

Psalm 103

 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

The Lord truly blessed us on our trip to the Smoky Mountains last week.  We had a safe drive up and I am so very thankful to report that Caedmon did very well traveling that entire day.  When we arrived at our cabin that we had rented via internet we were a little disappointed.  The cabin was a little smaller and shabbier that it looked on the computer screen.  We were investigating  the cabin thoroughly before unloading our things when Jeff called me into the room that would be my mom's.  He had killed a scorpion.  I knew then that we would NOT be staying there!  I was mentally seeing us driving back home that evening as we couldn't stay at a hotel all week and really didn't know what to expect.  The Lord showed us wonderful mercies as Jeff called the rental company and they UPGRADED us to another "cabin".  The upgrade wound up being the "Living Large Lodge" with five bedrooms (three with king sized beds), two baths, hot tub, game room and large great room/kitchen with a gas fireplace.  And the best thing was that it was new and CLEAN!!  So wonderful.    I will try to post pictures all week.  The trees were doing a gorgeous display of color and we were just in constant awe of God's creation.

Lovely photos.

You were so close to us! We live less than an hour from Gatlinburg. If you come up this way again, please look us up.

It's beautiful this time of year in the Smokey's.

One of our family traditions is to visit Gatlinburg on Christmas eve. It's empty, the kids love looking in the shops watching them make fudge and getting samples. We have dinner in one of the local restaurants and then walk all the way back to our car in the dark and enjoy the winter wonderland of Christmas lights!
