THE OLD PANTRY
Louise Pinkerton Fritz
It stood next to the kitchen,
Only a door between;
It held the many goodies
About which children dream:
Sweet jellies, red and purple,
(Wild strawberry and grape);
Fresh pies and homemade cookies
And tasty chocolate cake.
It stood next to the kitchen,
With just a door between...
The old pantry at Grandma's
Where goodies reigned supreme.
Do you have special "food" memories of your grandmothers' homes? I know I do and I hope to provide my children and grandchildren with those special memories as well!

This is a cute poem. I don't really have anything except memories of foods I didn't like. Liver, onions, mince meat pie, baked eggs with far too much butter. You know, those types of memories.
LOTS of food. Men ate first. Women & children after they finished. Fried chicken!!! Multiple pies. almost always a pound cake in the house.
